Seattle, Washington is the “big city” of the Northwest and is ripe for exploring. Pike Place Market is a Seattle institution and is probably what you have in mind when you think of Seattle. It’s an open air market and has fresh foods and the infamous flying fish. The Space Needle is another must-see. Climb to the top and check out the view or have a meal or a drink in SkyCity, the restaurant at the top that makes one full rotation per hour. The Experience Music Project Museum, designed by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, chronicles the exciting history of rock and roll with regularly changing exhibitions and even offers guitar lesson workshops. Seattle is also just a great city for walking around. Capitol Hill and Fremont are two excellent walking neighborhoods with historic buildings, nice shops, and cozy cafes. |
